The Institute of Computer Science jointly with the Mathematical Institute, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, will organize a one-day meeting honoring Professor Miroslav Fiedler in recognition of his many fundamental contributions to linear algebra and matrix theory for over more than 50 years, and on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The meeting will take place on Monday, June 12, 2006 in Prague, Czech Republic. Professor Fiedler's colleagues from all over the world are invited to attend this event and to present a contributed talk there. The participants are kindly asked to register as soon as possible not later than April 12, 2006. It is tentatively assumed that the morning session will consist of the opening address and of main talks, whereas the afternoon session will consist of short presentations. The title of the talk together with a short abstract (one A4 page at most) in LaTeX should be sent to the by the end of April. In view of the limited time allotted the organizers reserve the right to distribute the talks among two sessions.

There will be no proceedings. Accepted papers will be published in a special LAA issue in honor of M. Fiedler.
