GUESTBOOK INTRODUCTION
I am a research fellow of the Department of Computational Methods of the Institute of Computer Science, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. Until now, I have spent there more than 25 years.
Since my graduation I have been always teaching. My favourite courses have been Methods for Sparse Matrices , Graphs algorithms , and Implementation of Numerical Methods. Until 2009 I was full professor at the Technical University in Liberec.
AWARDS
I appreciate very much to be honored in 2001 jointly with Michele Benzi by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) with the SIAM Outstanding Paper Prize for the paper:
A sparse approximate inverse preconditioner for nonsymmetric linear systems, SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing 19(3), 1998, pp. 968-994.

I am a member of the team led by Zdenek Strakos which was awarded in 2006 by the Prize of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic for Important Scientific Contributions.
